Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center and the Affiliated Community Medical Centers medical clinic make up the largest health care center within a 60-mile radius of Marshall. Twenty-seven physicians and physician assistants are available in the community, with specialties including: OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, Urology, and General Surgery. Access to home health care is available, along with physical therapy, adult skilled nursing, occupational therapy, dietetics, speech therapy, hospice and much more. Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center combines Marshall's 49-bed municipal hospital with a 76-bed skilled care nursing home, outpatient services and 24-hour emergency care. Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center is both JCAHO accredited and Medicare certified, and holds regularly scheduled outpatient clinics. Affiliated Community Medical Center operates the clinic immediately adjacent to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center, and is currently completing a building project to meet the growing health care needs of the Marshall community. A new 25,000 square foot clinic has just been completed at the Market Street Mall, and provides additional space for family practice, pediatrics, urgent care and occupational medical services. For mental health needs, Western Mental Health Center provides adult, family and child mental health services. Project Turnabout is a private, non-profit treatment center providing services to chemically dependent persons and family members, compulsive gamblers and perpetrators of domestic abuse.
